Speaking to the Reading FC Former Players' Association, Whitehouse's daughter said: "“My Dad loved his time playing for Reading & made many local friends. When he left he played for Coventry FC, and when that contract ended, he and my Mum moved back to Tilehurst in Reading and bought their house because they liked the town so much."
