Faye Bryson became Kelly Chambers' third summer signing as Reading Women continue to build their squad ahead of the 2021/22 Women's Super League season.

The 24-year-old full-back arrives after the expiration of her contract with Bristol City.

Primarily a right-back, Bryson fills a vacant spot in the Royals squad after the departure of Kristine Leine.

Bryson started her career with Everton gaining promotion from WSL2 to the top tier with the Toffees. After five years as a senior with her childhood club, Bryson made the switch to The Vixens during the 2019/20 campaign.

Suffering relegation with Bristol City last campaign, Bryson returns to the top tier on a free transfer.

Signing a two year deal with the Berkshire club, Bryson told the club website: "I can't wait to get started, it was a no-brainer.

"Kelly [Chambers] only had great things to about the club. I'm excited to play for Reading."

Manager Chambers was pleased with the signing, adding: “I am delighted to bring Faye to the club.

"She is a young player that is hungry to get better. She has great full back attributes which definitely fits our philosophy, and she is a difficult player to play against and is going to add to my backline this season."

Bryson became the third summer signing after the arrival of striker Natasha Dowie and fellow ex-Bristol City defender Gemma Evans.

Elsewhere, young defender Bethan Roberts signed her first professional contract with Reading after making six appearances for the senior side during her breakthrough campaign last year.
