Veljko Paunovic was left frustated after his side capitulated against Norwich City at Carrow Road.

The Royals took a shock lead against the champions through Josh Laurent, but conceded before the break after a mix-up at the back allowed Dowell to score.

Dowell then added a second after the break, before goals from Quintilla and Pukki added gloss to the scoreline for the Canaries.

Speaking after the game, Paunovic said: "First of all, I want to congratulate Norwich. They've been a fantastic side all season.

"We came here to play our game and also match up against a team that has been the best.

"We did a very good job of that in the first half.

"We conceded a goal that was avoidable and then we made some mistakes we could also have done better.

"It was all in an attempt to be competitive and honour the game, to do our best to win.

"In the first half it worked very well but we did not start well after the break.

"With that said, they took over very quickly and they got their goal advantage and after that we triedd to fight back, but the third and fourth goal were due to the fact that we were in a rush in an attempt to compete and recover the advantage.

Paunovic played three loanees against the Canaries, despite the lack of importance of the result and their imminent departures.

Explaining the decision, Paunovic said: "Everyone wanted to be the best, there is always an improvement.

"You don't want to lose and that is what shapes our perception in selection.

"There is no temptations in terms of who is going to play.

"We always want to win and look at the team, Dejan came in and had a very good game - he was excellent with his application and effort.

"I'm very happy how the veterans of the team helped him durimg the game.

Paunovic confirmed after the game that Andy Rinomhota had a toe issue and Liam Moore has a hamstring issue, but could not confirm whether either would be fit enough to feature on the final day.
