Reading host Swansea City on Sunday in the penultimate home game of the 2020/21 season.

Following the stalemate against Luton Town in midweek the play-off push has all but ended for Reading, while the visitors are firmly in the top six picture.

Below we take a look at what you need to know about the Swans.

Recent Form

Currently navigating a mixed run of form, Steve Cooper’s side have had three wins and four defeats in their last 10 including a four match losing run in March and April. However they still find themselves comfortably in the top six, with the automatic promotion dream over with Watford’s win on Saturday confirming their promotion alongside leaders Norwich City.

Last time out they lost 1-0 to QPR and will hope to bounce back and build momentum ahead of the final two matches of the normal season and their play-off campaign next month.

The last fixture between the two sides ended in a 0-0 draw at the Liberty Stadium in December, and Reading are without a win over the Welsh side in over 10 years.

Since the first meeting between the sides in 1921, each team has won 33 matches in the head-to-head standings.

Team News

Key forward Andre Ayew is likely to be missing for the visitors wih a hamstring injury, while both Lucas Joao and Liam Moore look to be out for Veljko Paunovic after picking up injuries last Friday and Wednesday respectively.

Key Player

15 goal striker Ayew is likely to be out and therefore someone must step up and fill the goal scoring void.

Jamal Lowe looks to be the most likely to notch vital goals with 13 to his name, however the next top scorer is Conor Hourihane with five since his arrival in January.

Youngsters Liam Cullen or Morgan Whittaker may use this period to prove their worth with just one goal between them so far.
