Here are our player ratings from Reading 1-1 draw at home to Cardiff City.

Rafael - 6

Produced a strong save to deny Wilson in the first half. Didn't have a great deal to do in the second period and was unable to keep out a well-struck penalty from Moore.

Andy Yiadom - 5

Needed to produce better deliveries from the wing as he pushed forward on the overlap. In the right place to clear off the line from Wilson.

Omar Richards - 4

Conceded the penalty late on to cap off a poor showing. Needed to do more to add another option going forward.

Liam Moore - 6

Did a lot of work to organise those further ahead of him after the break. Helped cope with the strength of Moore and won his fair share of aerial battles.

Tom Holmes - 8

Coped with the physicality of Kieffer Moore all game and looked composed despite the pressure that the target man put on him. Maintained focus and discipline in the second half, despite Cardiff sitting back, and did well to be alert to the danger when required.

Andy Rinomhota - 6

Broke up the play in the middle of the pitch and helped link the defence and the attack.

Josh Laurent - 6

Tenacious and energetic in the middle of the pitch and produced some nice touches to open the pitch up ahead of him. Kept going strong until the final whistle.

Ovie Ejaria - 6

Keen to attack his man and try and create opportunities from out wide. Guilty at points of meandering on the ball and allowing Cardiff to regroup.

Michael Olise - 4

His creativity was stifled by the visitors who didn't allow him any time on the ball. Needed to force the issue a lot more and drop deeper to collect possession. His delivery from set-pieces left a lot to be desired.

Yakou Meite - 6

Scored late on but ultimately it was too little, too late. Missed several chances from the edge of the box but did show good intent with his play in the second half.

Lucas Joao - 3

Couldn't seem to trap a ball for spells in the first half as he struggled to provide an outlet. Looked a yard off the pace before the break. Improved after half-time but was unfortunately substituted due to injury.

SUBS

George Puscas - 4

Came on in place of Meite but couldn't lay a glove on the Cardiff defence.

John Swift - 5

Looked competent but unremarkable on his return to the side. Played a few nice passes.

Aluko, Tetek and Baldock came on too late for a fair rating.
