Nothing but a win will satisfy Royals manager Veljko Paunovic as the Royals gear up to face Cardiff City at the Madejski Stadium on Friday evening.

The Royals will be looking to close the gap on sixth-placed Barnsley to two points ahead of the Tykes' trip to Coventry City on Sunday afternoon.

Paunovic issued a defiant rallying cry ahead of the crunch match with the Bluebirds during his pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

"I think it is clear we have to win. We have always done it like this, it is nothing new to us," Paunovic said.

"We'll look for the best possible team that can get the result again and again until the end of the season.

“Our team will do that. Pride is very important for everyone. I’ve seen many miracles in this game. You have to have belief and faith in what we are doing.

"You can't help but be affected emotionally by the other results.

"But, you have to focus on what you can control. I have been focused on how to prepare the team and hope for the best possible outcome.

“With five games to go, it’s not easy but it is possible. As long as the possibility is there we are going to fight."
