Reading host QPR this weekend in the last of the games ahead of the international break.

After three wins on the spin, Reading have taken just one point from the last two games after a draw with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground last Saturday and a defeat in midweek away at Birmingham City.

We spoke to former Reading FC reporter and QPR supporter Nick Tunney who gave us the lowdown on Rangers ahead of Saturday's game.

QPR had a massive comeback win in midweek against Millwall, just how much of a boost will that have given the side do you think?

I think it will give the team a huge boost heading into a tough game.

They have won the most points from losing positions since the start of last season in the Championship and against a strong defence like Millwall's, it shows we have an attack that can cause problems to the best defences in the division.

Rangers have picked up a number of scalps against high-flying opponents in recent weeks, most notably Watford, Brentford and Bournemouth - do you think the side raises their game for these sort of games and play without fear?

This season has been different in that respect as in the past couple of seasons, we have struggled against the top sides.

It shows we have the quality to hurt these teams and I think they have enjoyed being the underdog this season, especially against Brentford, who we have had a poor record against in recent years.

What would you put the recent resurgence in 2021 down to?

A multitude of reasons! Firstly, going to three at the back with wing-backs has really helped and that has allowed to play two up top and add attacking threat.

We have players suited to that system and we added real quality in January with the likes of Charlie Austin and Stefan Johansen joining on loan.

Who are the key men for Reading fans to keep an eye on?

Of course, Austin is a huge threat at this level with his goalscoring prowess and if he has a chance, he usually gobbles it up.

Ilias Chair and Chris Willock are very promising young players with bright futures who can provide that quality to change a game.

Rob Dickie at centre half, a former Royal, has been superb this season and goalkeeper Seny Dieng is one of the best in the league.

Score prediction?

Our away form has been excellent for the past couple of months and I feel we can definitely get at least a point. I will sit on the fence and go for 1-1.
