ON SATURDAY Reading travel to Chris Hughton’s Nottingham Forest with the aim of making it four wins on the bounce.

Below we look at everything you need to know about the Tricky Trees.

Recent Form

Winless in three, the former European Cup winners are currently sat 17th in the Championship and eight points clear of the bottom three.

Narrow defeats have been the story of Nottingham Forest’s season -- four of the side's last five defeats have been by a one-goal margin.

A goals conceded column of just 34 is the best in the entire bottom half, but it is the goals scored of just 28 that is letting the side down with only four teams having scored less.

Despite the lowly league position, results since the former Newcastle United manager took over in October has the side up in 13th and form over the last 10 matches has the side in the top half, so they are a side not to be taken lightly.

The last meeting between the two sides was a 2-0 win for Veljko Paunovic’s side, in front of 2,000 adoring Royals fans for the first of two times this season.

An early red card for Forest midfielder Ryan Yates allowed Lucas Joao to open the scoring from the spot before Michael Morrison made sure of the points in the second half with a powerful header.

This will be the 50th meeting between the two sides, with the first match a 0-0 draw in the 1903 FA Cup.

Overall the Reds have won 20 while Reading have won 17.

Team News

Former Reading striker Lewis Grabban is expected to be missing for the hosts, alongside midfielder Harry Arter and centre-back Scott McKenna.

For the visitors, key players Yakou Miete, Ovie Ejaria, Andy Rinohmota and Lewis Gibson will be assessed on the day to determine whether they can play any part in the match.

John Swift and Michael Morrison will remain out for some time.

Brazilian Felipe Araruna has faced a set back on his return from injury and will meet this week with a specialist.

One to Watch

A squad full of experienced professionals in the Nottingham Forest line-up, there are many that have history with playing Reading.

Championship veteran, and former Royal, Glenn Murray joined in January to add some more firepower. He has since scored two goals in Red.

However, it is holding midfielder Yates who has contributed to the most goals for the East Midlands outfit this season, with two goals and two assists to his name so far this season.

Also worth keeping an eye on is the right-hand side of the hosts, with right-back Cyrus Christie proving two assists this season and Anthony Knockaert scoring two from the right side.

Pauno’s Thoughts

Paunovic is expecting a tough match at the City Ground, however believes that his side have improved since the first test earlier in the season.

Speaking to the media ahead of the match, he said: “I think it is going to be a tough game. I think they are a good team, they’ve improved and now we’re going to have a different game.

“But we’re also a different team and I would dare to say a better team than we were back then so we will be looking to give our best.”
