Reading FC manager Veljko Paunovic was delighted with his teams performance as they secured a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday evening.

George Puscas scored the only goal of the game in the first half on his return to the starting XI, meaning that Reading have now secured back to back wins to reignite their play-off push.

Speaking after the game, the Serbian boss said of the perfomance: "I'm very happy.

"I believe the team understands how we have to play and adapt to teams like Blackburn who did a really good job in possession, especially in the second half.

"We didn't get desperate, it was the way to play against this team.

"It was very mature performance for us which included young players who have developed so much and I'm proud of every single one of them.

Paunovic also singled out George Puscas for praise after his man of the match display.

"I am also very happy for George Puscas coming back from a long injury.

"He really worked hard after he came back from a long injury and surgery.

"Not only because of his goal, but because he worked hard to get to the level where he can play 90 minutes and he gives us more options in attack."

Reading were forced to change their formation upon the absence of Andy Rinomhota and play with two strikers.

Speaking on this tactical switch post-match, Paunovic said: "We're not afraid to switch or be creative.

"Courage is the main thing in football.

"You have to have it and you have to have ideas and an idea of what you want to achieve.

"We'll be creative when we need to be and we will also adapt if we need too."

Paunovic also confirmed post-match that Michael Morrison's injury, which led to him being substituted, is a 'soft tissue' injury, which should not keep him out for a long spell.

Similarly, Andy Rinomhota - who missed today's game - has also suffered a soft tissue injury and isn't expected to be out of action for a long period.

Yakou Meite is a 'week behind' George Puscas and could be fit for the weekend.
