Yakou Meite could be set to return to the Royals starting XI for Saturday's trip to Rotherham.

The forward has been out of action after he picked up a serious-looking groin injury against Stoke City on February 6.

Despite initial fears that Meite's injury could have been long-term, Royals boss Veljko Paunovic confirmed after Tuesday's defeat that he could return against the Millers.

Paunovic stated thet Meite is in the final stage of his recovery and suggested that he 'might be available for Saturday'.

Meite scored a brace against the Millers earlier this season, including a remarkable overhead effort which helped Reading ease to a 3-0 win.

Everton loanee Lewis Gibson could also return to the squad, despite suffering a 'set-back' to his recovery.

Felipe Araruna and John Swift remain sidelined through injury.

Araruna has not featured for the side since picking up a serious knee injury in September and needs time to 'build his form' before returning to the squad, according to the manager.

Swift has suffered a recurrence to the groin injury which saw him ruled out of action for a lengthy spell earlier this season and is not likely to return before April.
