On Wednesday night Reading host in-form Brentford as both sides look to extend their respective unbeaten runs.

Thomas Frank’s Brentford have not lost a match since late October, and are currently on a 20 match unbeaten streak.

On Saturday they beat Middlesbrough 4-1, with a brace from Ivan Toney and goals from Mathias Jensen and Vitaly Janelt.

Last season’s losing play-off finalists, they have risen up to second, and sit just a point behind league leaders Norwich City.

They have the best goal difference in the league, and are currently top scorers with 52 goals in 27 matches.

If Reading are to lose it will be the first time in the history of the fixture that Reading have lost four on the spin to the West London side, a feat Reading managed to inflict on Brentford from 1971-1973.

Reading will remain without captain Liam Moore and striker George Puscas through injury, although both are expected back before the end of the month.

Brentford will be missing Christian NØrgaard and Shandon Baptiste through injury.
