Reading FC remain on the hunt for new signings as the transfer deadline draws closer.

Veljko Paunovic is yet to have any reinforcements join his ranks in January following an unusually quiet window across the EFL.

The Serbian manager confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the club remain hopeful of bringing in new players before the end of the month.

“We are active in the market, we are looking at the possibilities and targets we have.

"Our best signings are coming from home with the boys recovering.

“We are ready if some of the targets we have are set to come to us.

"I don’t want to give false expectations to anyone but we are active.

“If we can bring somebody to raise the level and improve the depth of the team, and not damage our environment, that will be a plus.

"If not, we don’t need anyone."

Reports across social media have suggested that the Royals are interesting in bringing in Fulham winger Neeskens Kebano.

Addressing these rumours, Paunovic said: "I'm not going to give you names. What I'm going to say is what I have always said, we are active.

"When we are ready to give anything that makes sense and not too contribute to the rumours that may be false, also. It doesn't make sense for us to address any rumour.

"Like we did with Tomas Esteves and Alfa Semedo when they came in, we will present them, say how we did it and give you better information about everything that happened.

"I want to remain focused on the Bournemouth game. After that, we can refocus and see if we can do anything in the market."
