The Madejski Stadium hosts Championship action for the first time since Boxing Day on Tuesday, with Mark Robins’ Coventry City the visitors.

Below we take a look at all you need to know about the Sky Blues.

Form

Enjoying their first season back in the second tier since 2012, the side has picked up four points from their last three league fixtures and currently sit 17th in the Championship.

Last time out they lost 2-0 to league leaders Norwich City in the FA Cup third round.

They beat the Royals 3-2 at St. Andrews in October, inflicting Veljko Paunovic’s first league defeat as manager of the club.

Goals from Gustavo Hamer, Matt Godden and Sam McCallum cancelled out strikes from Lucas Joao and George Puscas.

Team News

Reading will remain without key stars Yakou Meite and Liam Moore, who are still recovering from long term injuries.

George Puscas, Andy Yiadom, Felipe Araruna and Lewis Gibson are also set to be ruled out.

The Midlands outfit could see first-choice goalkeeper Marko Marosi returning the action after minutes for the Under-23s last week.

Both Godden and former Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker remain out until next month.

Key Player

Midfielder Hamer is crucial to Robins’ side, having contributed four goals and an assist in the Championship this season.

The Dutchman joined the side in the summer from Eredivisie side PEC Zwolle and has been un-droppable ever since.

Linked with Scottish Premiership giants Rangers, he has been a revelation this season.

Manager thoughts

Veljko Paunovic, via www.readingfc.co.uk: “Coventry are a very good team, but we always approach our games one at a time, and we will give our best each time.

"We will be ready for tomorrow when kick-off comes, and as the game rolls on, we will put on the best performance possible.

“It’s a different game for both teams this time and a different moment in the season. We are preparing a different approach for it."

Odds

Royals are 23/20 for the win, a Coventry win is 13/5 and a draw currently 11/5, according to Sky Bet.
