Contract talks full-back Omar Richards are going well, with the youngster moving closer to signing a new deal with the club.

Richards is one of the club's most prized assets and manager Veljko Paunovic has previously stated that he hopes to tie the left-back down on a long-term deal.

There has been speculation surrounding the immediate future of the defender, with Bavarian giants Bayern Munich reportedly interested in acquiring the services of the 22-year-old, alongside Brighton, Crystal Palace and West Ham United.

However, the Reading Chronicle understands that although a new deal is yet to be confirmed - talks between the player and the club are in a positive state and a new contract may be agreed in the coming days.

Richards has also liked several comments on his Instagram page from Royals supporters, pleading that he remains at the club.

It is also understood that Paunovic met with fellow youngster Michael Olise's representatives earlier this week, as the club attempt to tie down the midfielder on a long-term deal.
