Reading FC fans left bemused by refereeing performance in Sheffield Wednesday draw

Despite the referee awarding the home side a red card in the first half, Royals supporters slammed Langford's decision not to award Reading a spot kick in the second half.

Paunovic's side had four penalty shouts turned down by the officials and this was the main talking point post-match amongst Reading fans across social media.

When an experienced manager like Pulis admits we should have had two penalties then you know it’s true. Such a shocking ref. So easy for fans to criticise but on this occasion it’s warranted. He’s cost us first spot. Simple as. And NOTHING will be done about it. #readingfc

Just so frustrating in such an important game for @ReadingFC absolutely diabolical officiating costs us the game. We had our chances but to miss all of those penalty shouts is nothing short of disgraceful. @EFL must do something or become even more of a laughing stock #readingfc

I tell you what though, I still don't think I'd want VAR. This actually is the sort of thing I love about football.

Don't get me wrong, Langford should have his cards and whistle taken off him, but I love this side of the game. The injustice is crazy, but it's done. #Readingfc
