Andy Yiadom could be set for another spell on the sidelines, having suffered another knee injury on his return to the side.

The Ghanaian right-back was ruled out after Reading’s opening day win away at Derby County on September 12, and made his return in the 3-0 home defeat to Stoke City before the most recent international break.

Speaking after the game against Bournemouth, Royals manager Veljko Paunovic confirmed that the injury was ‘in the same place’ as the previous knock, which ruled him out for a total of eight weeks.

Fellow right-back Tomas Esteves struggled in the game against Bournemouth on the weekend, and was ultimately substituted after Bournemouth levelled the game in the second half.

Academy graduate Tom Holmes returned to action in place of Esteves having recovered from a hamstring injury which had left the squad appearing notably depleted at the back.

Yakou Meite also returned to action against Bournemouth after his injury lay-off, and could start tonight at The Den.

Tom McIntyre is currently in self-isolation after coming into contact with someone who had tested positive with Covid-19 whilst on international duty with Scotland and will be unavailable for tonight's game.

John Swift and Felipe Araruna remain absent from the squad as they continue their rehabilitation from injury.

Previously, Paunovic said that he was ‘hopeful’ that the duo would be fit to return to action before the end of the year.
