Former Beijing Renhe boss Aleksandar Stanojević is a contender to take over from Mark Bowen, the Reading Chronicle understands.
It is understood that newly appointed CEO Dayong Pang, who took over from Nigel Howe yesterday, wants Bowen to resume his previous role as sporting director.

The Reading Chronicle understands Howe was asked to step away from the footballing side of the club, in order to focus on areas such as the new training ground, following concerns from the clubs owners.

Should Bowen indeed return to his previous role, Aleksandar Stanojević is being lined up as one of the contenders to take over from Bowen.
Reading have been in contact with Stanojević, with talks being held over the phone.
The Serbian has had a ten managerial roles since 2010, at Srem, Serbia's U19 side, Partizan, Dalian Aerbin, Beijing Guoan, Maccabi Haifa, Beijing BG, PAOK, Al-Qadsiah and most recently Beijing Renhe.
He was also the assistant for the Serbian national side between 2007 and 2008.
He also only managed four wins in 18 games at Beijing Renhe in his last managerial role.
