Reading FC will finish their season tonight as they host Swansea City on the final match day of the 2019-20 campaign.

The game will be of more importance to the visitors, with the Welsh outfit still hoping to sneak into the play-off positions.

Swansea boss Steve Cooper will know his side need to win and to rely on bitter rivals Cardiff City suffering a home defeat to rock-bottom Hull City or Stoke City winning away at faltering Nottingham Forest.

Reading, on the other hand, have only pride to play for. Bowen's men currently sit in 15th spot and will finish in the bottom half - no matter the result tonight.

Speaking ahead of the gane, Bowen told the club website: "They’ll ask serious questions of us – we’ll certainly have to make sure we start better on the front foot for that game.

“It’s going to be a test, but we need to make sure we finish off our season with a win at home. Our home record has not been great, we’ve thrived more away from home.

“We need to make sure we don’t limp over the line on Wednesday night. We need to put a performance in that gets three points for this club.

“It has to be full throttle. We had periods against Blackburn where we looked a good side, but then we had periods where we looked ragged and like we’re not doing the right things."
