Although he didn't explicitly rule out any involvement for Pele in the final two games against Blackburn on Saturday and Swansea next week, Bowen refused to deny that he may have played his final game for Reading.

Pele had previously stated that he would consider rejoining Reading, although these comments were made prior to the Covid-19 pandemic and any deal now appears unlikely given the financial constraints currently on the club.
