Reading FC boss Mark Bowen said that he believes young defender Tom Mcintyre will only get better and become more important for his side in the future.
Bowen's men have secured three consecutive clean sheets after Tom McIntyre was drafted in to replace club captain Liam Moore in the starting eleven.
Speaking after the 1-0 triumph away at Charlton, Bowen said: “I’ve got no doubt Tom will grow in stature, get consistency in his game and be a top defender.

"He’s been very unlucky with injuries. If we can keep him fit and well, he’s a very important player for me and this club in the future.
“The margins are small in this league so you have to make sure that you’re defensively solid.
Bowen was also hesitant to confirm when the skipper will return to the team.
“We’ve got another clean sheet. Everyday Liam will [Moore] come in and train to the best of his ability and will be pushing to get back in. I’ve got to look at each game as it comes and assess where we are with it.”
