LAST Sunday saw the last Association match of the season – a 'teams of four' event – fished on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Froxfield, writes Alan Hughes.

Ten Teams of Four, making a total of 40 anglers, were booked in and the matchday weather was dry, cold and sunny.

There was also a strong and cold westerly wind blowing.

The Kennet had a good colour, and was towing slightly.

Heavy rain during the week had significantly dropped the water temperature which ultimately affected the match weights on the day.

Total match weight was 64lbs 5ozs at an average weight of 1lb 9ozs per angler.

The winning team with 32 points was Adventure & Prestcold A, made up of Geoff Eley, Graham Hawkins, Nick Richardson and Paul Wilding.

In second place was the TRBLAS 'Sir Tonys Swingers' team, containing Tony Tibble, Liam Page-Smith, Richard Rosinski and John Swift. They totalled 31 points.

Reading Fishing Club's 'Blind Chickens' came third with 29 points and rounding out the top five were TRBLAS Muppets (26 points) and Pangbourneand Whitchurch Slapheads (24).

Individually the match was tied between Graham Hawkins and George Callaghan, who both weighed in 5lbs 9ozs each.
