Sheffield Wednesday boss Garry Monk has challenged his side to show fight and character against Reading tomorrow at Hillsborough.

The Owls have struggled for results in the league in recent weeks and have only managed two points from their last four games, denting their own promotion push.

Ahead of Reading’s visit tomorrow, Monk admitted to the club website that his side have disappointed him in recent weeks.

Monk told www.swfc.co.uk: “We all have to do better because right now it’s not good enough. I am the manager of this team and this club and it’s my responsibility.

“But I have been a fighter all my life and I will continue to give my all to help this cause.

“We all have to show fight and character to get out of this run of results. The players have the character and it’s about showing it – you don’t win at Brighton, Leeds and QPR without it.

“We haven’t been good enough and we have to get better individually and collectively.”
