Reading appear set to make their first signing of the January transfer window in the next 24 hours.
Twenty-three-year-old midfielder Felipe Araruna is flying to England to complete his move, the Reading Chronicle understands.
What can Royals fans expect, should Araruna sign on the dotted line? We've taken a closer look at Felipe Araruna.
Position
Felipe Araruna primarily plays as a defensive midfielder, although he has been known to fill in at right-back when required.
He can play in central midfield position, but his attributes are more suited to playing in a defensive role.
Style of play
Araruna does not have a wealth of professional experience (having played just 31 games for São Paulo and Fortaleza) and consequently it's tough to define his style at this point.
He is known in Brazil for being an energetic midfielder, working tenaciously in the middle of the field to allow forward players to thrive.
How long does he have left on his contract?
Araruna's deal with his current side São Paulo expires at the end of the calendar year, as opposed to at the end of this season.
Although it's not known at this point whether Reading are looking to bring in Araruna on a permanent transfer or an initial loan deal, any fee would likely to be cut-price given his expiring deal.
Current value
According to TransferMarkt, Araruna's valuation is around £300,000.
Will he be eligible to play against Cardiff on Friday?
Although he has a European passport and thus will not face any issues obtaining a work permit, it’s very unlikely to see Araruna in action for Reading on Friday night, even if the deal is completed today.
