Here are our player ratings from Reading’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at The City Ground.

Rafael – 6

Given Reading’s resolute defensive display, Rafael had a relatively quiet evening. He was in no way at fault for Forest’s goal and put in a competent display.

Chris Gunter – 7

The former Forest man played well on his return to his former stomping ground. His positional play was excellent, especially in the first half, constantly being in the right place at the right time to extinguish danger from Forest’s wide men. Provided a decent attacking outlet as well.

Michael Morrison – 8

A performance that we have become accustomed to seeing from Morrison another very impressive display. Kept calm despite being under pressure for long spells and again was a colossus in the air.

Liam Moore – 8

See above.

Tyler Blackett – 6

Had a tough task keeping Joe Lolley quiet but did well for long periods. Lacked a little in terms of attacking and supporting Obita on the left wing but was solid defensively which was ultimately more important.

Pele – 7

Did well to remain disciplined after being booked in the early stages and managed to keep playing his usual, robust game. Broke up the play on a number of occasions and looked assured as he helped the transition from defence to attack.

John Swift – 6

Didn’t have the end product that we have seen him display on a number of occasions this season but passed the ball well as Reading looked to exploit the gaps that were left with Forest pressing.

Ovie Ejaria – 6

Took a little too long on the ball at times and could’ve played the safe option but did show flashes of the brilliance that Royals fans have relished this season. Suits the central role a lot better than he does playing out wide.

Michael Olise – 8

An incredibly mature performance from the young men. He repaid the faith put in him by the manager and looked a real creative threat on the right wing, playing several stunning long balls including a 50-yard ball which nearly led to a goal for Jordan Obita.

Jordan Obita – 8

Came close at the end of the first half and put some really impressive deliveries into the box. Wasn’t afraid to drive at his man and caused Figueiro numerous problems.

George Puscas -  5

Left chasing shadows for a lot of the first half with Reading forced to clear the ball long. Never really looked like scoring but worked his socks off to try and press the Forest back line, unfortunately to no avail.

SUBS

Sam Baldock – 8

Perfect substitute performance from Baldock. He came on, exploited a few tired legs in the Forest back line and sealed a point with a very well taken finish from inside the box.

Danny Loader – N/A

Wasn’t on the pitch long enough for a fair rating.
