Reading goalkeeper Luke Southwood has signed a new deal with the club, and agreed to go back on loan to Scottish side Hamilton Academical for the rest of the season.
The 22 year-old was due to be out of contract in the summer, but has been given a one-year extension until summer 2021.
Southwood made eight appearances for the Accies in the first half of the season, and will re-join the club in their battle for survival in the Scottish Premiership.
The former Bath City loanee could play tonight in the fixture with Hibernian; or on the weekend at New Douglas Park against Livingston.
He will hope to come back in the summer and push for a position in Mark Bowen’s first-team squad.
