Royals midfielder Pele admitted that although it is too early to make a decision on his permanent future beyond this season, he is settled in Berkshire.

The Monaco loanee has been a revelation in recent weeks, settling in to the defensive midfield role in Mark Bowen's new tactical set up.

Speaking to the media ahead of the visit of Nottingham Forest, Pele said that he would love to stay at the Madejski beyond his initial loan period.

"It is [too] early to say, but it is a great team and if I have a chance to stay, I'll stay.

"They have given me everything so far. In football everything changes in one day so it is too early to say.

"I do not know if Monaco want me to stay, so if I had a chance to stay with one club I will because I do not want to go on loan everything.

"My son and my wife are here. They like the city, it is quiet so it is perfect for me."

Speaking about being recalled and maintaining his place in Mark Bowen's starting XI, Pele said: "I want to keep my position. I was out so I fought for this position and this opportunity.

"I need to keep working hard to keep my place in the team."

Pele also was full of praise for midfielders Ovie Ejaria and John Swift for their performances in recent weeks, saying that he was happy to do the dirty work to help them thrive further up the pitch.

"Ovie and Swifty are great players. We are different players. I'm more of a midfield defender so I need to work for them to score to help the team."
