Here are our player ratings from Reading’s impressive 2-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Rafael – 9

Simply outstanding. The Brazilian keeper made a number of incredible saves to maintain Reading’s lead, including a brilliant stop at full stretch to deny Mitrovic a late leveller. Also made a stunning double save to deny both Mitrovic and Decordova-Reid in the first half.

Chris Gunter – 7

Another solid performance from Gunter on his 300th appearance for the Royals. Would’ve been disappointed with the time Ivan Cavaleiro had to pick his spot for Fulham’s goal, but other than that it was another impressive showing from Gunter who worked tirelessly to help maintain Reading’s lead.

Liam Moore – 8

Up against arguably the best striker in the league, Liam Moore had a great game – keeping the defence organized throughout. Did spurn a couple of good chances from set pieces but other than that an impressive performance.

Michael Morrison – 8

Again, Morrison was a rock at the back. As impressive as ever in the air, Morrison’s positioning was brilliant, allowing him to be in the right place at the right time to stop dangerous attacks as Fulham applied heavy pressure.

Tyler Blackett – 7

Provided another assist with a carbon copy of John Swift’s goal against Preston. Faced a tough test defensively but did well to cope with the pressure for the majority of the 90 minutes.

Charlie Adam – 8

Capped off a fine performance in the middle of the park with a second half goal, which was very much deserved. Provided a calming influence in the middle of the pitch and helped Reading break at pace with some clever passing.

Pele – 9

Probably his best game in a Reading shirt, Pele was fantastic against Fulham. His relentless energy and pressing helped win the ball back on countless occasions and battled incredibly hard for every ball.

Ovie Ejaria – 8

A performance that Reading fans have become accustomed to from Ejaria. Danced into the box and set up Charlie Adam for Reading’s second goal and looked to make things happen whenever he was on the ball. Faded a little bit in the second half, but that was as a result of Fulham’s endeavour to get back on level terms.

John Swift – 8

Was in the right place at the right time (which is no coincidence) for the second consecutive game to open the scoring with a tidy, albeit fortunate, finish. Produced a fine display again, looking to create whenever he had the opportunity.

Yakou Meite – 4

An industrious but unfortunately quiet performance from Meite, who struggled to make an impact on the right wing. Battled back well and helped in a defensive capacity but was disappointing going forward.

Lucas Joao – 4

A frustrating afternoon for Joao, who was left isolated for a lot of the game up front – especially in the first half. Spurned a good opportunity in the second half when he was picked out in the area. Picked up a booking after kicking the ball away in frustration and was taken off clutching his leg, which summed his afternoon up.

SUBS

Andy Rinomhota – 6

Helped Reading seal all three points with an energetic cameo from the bench.

Matt Miazga - 8

Made an immediate impact after coming on, getting in a great position to clear the ball with Mitrovic lurking. Continued in the same manner for the remainder of the game with a solid display.

Sam Baldock – 4

Came on for Lucas Joao but didn’t have the opportunity to make much of an impact with Fulham camped in the Reading half.
