After a sensational return to form at Wigan on the weekend, George Puscas has picked up two prestigious awards at this years Romanian Football Gala.

The 23-year-old forward has been in great form for the national side, scoring five times in 10 appearances for Romania this calendar year.

The Reading striker scored three times in two games against Malta, as well as two in two against the Faroe Islands. All of the goals have been scored in Euro 2020 qualification.

Puscas was rewarded for his form during the awards ceremony in Bucharest, picking up the Player of the Year award for 2019 as well as Forward of the Year 2019.

Puscas' agent, Catalin Sarmasan, wrote on Instagram: "It's been about 12 years since I first met him.

"He was a blonde child, with two big blue eyes, very attentive to everything that was going on around him.

"He loved the void and knew how to enjoy it with a disarming sincerity. I didn't intuit then how much my life and career will influence me, but I was always convinced that George is special.

"She then confirmed it to us, in countless memorable moments, that it would take me too long to tell you now.

"Tonight was another special time, within the Romanian Football Gala, crowning the first part of his career with an award that would honor any footballer in the country.

"And I feel extremely proud that to my right is the special George Alexandru Puscas, Romania's best footballer in 2019!
