STRIKER Tom McDermid opened his account and weighed in with a man-of-the-match performance as Loxwood overpowered AFC Caversham 5-2 in the Premier Division.

After helping his team with several assists of late, summer signing McDermid finally got off the mark with the opening goal after 35 minutes.

When Dan Pringle headed home a second 10 minutes into the second half, Loxwood looked to be cruising but gutsy Caversham came storming back with David Johnson scoring twice in the space of four mad minutes to level the scores.

However, this only spurred Loxwood to greater heights as Steve Barter, Kieran Giles and Jamie Turner (penalty) completed the comfortable victory.

Sam Wild and Ashley Trice both scored twice for Twyford Comets as they drew 4-4 with Englefield, Jamie Clark, Bradley Hicks, Matt Holloway and substitute Adam Hale on target for the visitors.

Park Villa climbed to second in the Division One table after a Kingsley Goodridge hat-trick fired them to a 3-0 home success against Arborfield.
