NEWBURY darts ace Luke Humphries is the new PDC World Youth champion after whitewashing Czech Republic star Adam Gawlas 6-0 at Butlins in Minehead.
The 24-year-old, who sensationally knocked reigning champion Rob Cross out of last year's World Championship en route to reaching the quarter-finals, showed no mercy in wiping the floor with his opponent in a clinical display.
'Cool Hand Luke' fired in three 180s and a 92.97 average as well as taking out 46 per cent of his doubles in a dominant display.
He also added five 140+ scores and 16 of 100+ in a fine performance.
Humphries follows in the footsteps of two-time champion Dmitri van den Bergh, World No. 4 Michael Smith, German Max Hopp and Australian Corey Cady among the previous winners.
Current World No. 1, Michael van Gerwen, was twice a runner-up in the competition.
