A PROUD record held by Reading FC is guaranteed to continue for another year at least.

Their run of 13 successive wins from the start of the season, which they set in the 1985-86 season, was under threat by Liverpool.

But the Premier League leaders saw their sequence of eight victories come to an end when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Manchester United last weekend.

Liverpool had also been closing in on Tottenham's 11-game run in 1960.

Reading, in Division Three at the time, passed that mark after winning 2-0 at Newport County, before being held to a 2-2 draw by Wolves at Elm Park.

Along the way, they came close to dropping points, as nine of their 13 victories were by just one goal, while in the game against Plymouth they had to rely on a last-minute penalty save by keeper Gary Westwood.

READING FC Women star Jade Moore has become an official ambassador for the Berks & Bucks FA's new '21 for 21' project.

She was at Milton Keynes FC last Thursday for the launch of a two-year mentoring and support programme for females in the build-up to Euro 2021. Matches are to be played at Stadium MK.

BBFA will provide mentoring, support and funding for 21 women currently involved in football on a playing, coaching, refereeing or volunteering basis.

MARTIN Law, chairman of the Thames Valley Football League, and Woodley-based Mark Rozzier, an official of the Southern Region Women's League, have both been elected to the Berks & Bucks FA Council.

The aim of the new-style council is to bring leagues closer to the FA and working together for the good of local football.

BERKS & Bucks FA are to run another of their popular 'flexi' 11v11' leagues in Reading starting on Monday, November 11 at Ryeish Green Sports Hub in Hyde End Road.

Held weekly over three months, matches will consist of two 25-minute halves for players aged 16 and over with rolling substitutes. They will be held between 7pm and 9pm.
