READING Athletic Club's Under 20 men finished third in the South of England Cross Country Relay Championships at Wormwood Scrubs on Saturday.

Shreyas Kanyady got the team off to a good start, finishing second in 10m 15secs which was the fourth fastest of the day.

Reading University student James Fox (15.58) ran well to hold on to second and Ben Rollings (10.55) ensured they took the bronze medal.

In the Senior Race held over a longer course, Reading were led off by Over 40 Veteran Adam Rennie (14.55).

Luc Jolly (14.26), Ed Stockdale (15.00) and club captain David Lewis (14.46) then ensured they ended in eighth spot.

The U15 boys just missed out on the medals as they had to settle for fourth place.

Christopher Parker made a steady start on the opening stage of the 3x2km race, running a time of 6.55 before Ollie Craggs (6.45) and Oli Snoxall (7.03) ensured Reading took fourth.

For the B team, Aidan Marshall (7.37), Nick Haldane (7.51) and Adam Methven's (7.38) sealed 26th place, while for Reading's incomplete C team Adam Tivey (8.16) and Elliott McCarthy (10.02) were 47th after the second stage.

In the U15 girls 3x2km race, Ella Newman (7.46), Ella Botha (7.59) and Holly Haldane (7.49) finished in seventh position.

The B team of Evie Elson (7.57), Jemima Crocker (8.28) and Talia Painting (8.35) were 24th, while the C team of Lydia Godfrey (8.16), Anna Macklin (9.32) and Lola Batt (8.58) ended 43rd.

In the U13 boys 3x2km race over the same course, Maddox Gillas (7.20), Josh Smith (7.50) and Billy Newman (8.15) secured ninth position.

For Reading's U13 girls' team, Emma Yeadon (8.38), Alex Marden (8.53) and Poppy Chick (9.17) were 27th.

In the under-17 women's 3x2.5km race, Reading's Naomi Harris finished in an excellent fourth place on the opening stage, recording 8.35, the sixth best time overall.

She was followed by Tessa Weavers (9.49) and Alannah Chadwick (9.39) who brought the team home 12th.

For Reading's B team, Lara Tolson (9.44), Oonagh O'Driscoll (10.11) and Evie Warren (10.17) ended 18th, while Mia Waldmann ran a fine 9.14 on the first stage for 13th place for an incomplete C team.

Laurie Baker (11.46) tackled the opening stage in the U17 men's 3x3km race, and Alfie McGlennon (11.41) and Mattie Raynor (11.00) ensured Reading climbed to 15th position at the finish.
