FOURTEEN anglers were booked in for the RDAA additional match on Beats 4B, and 5A and B.

The matchday weather was sunny, dry and very hot and with a strong breeze blowing.

The total match weight was 74lbs 6ozs at an average weight of 6lbs 3ozs per angler, while there were no dry nets on the day.

The match was won by RDAA Chairman Graham Hawkins of Prestcold AC.

Fishing the wire peg peg on Beat 4B section, Hawkins banked mainly roach and perch with a few bits during the course of the match.

Fishing stick float tactics, with single and double red maggot, he recorded a weight of 8lbs 8ozs.

Steve O'Keefe of TRBLAS was second overall.

Fishing the first peg downstream of the white bridge on Beat 5A section, O'Keefe banked mainly perch and using the same tactics as to record a weight of 7lbs 15ozs.

The section weights were. A section Beat 4B – 28lbs 8ozs; B section Beats 5A and B – 45lbs 14ozs.

Reading Fishing Club fished their match at Goring on Thames.

Stuart Keeble took top spot with 14lbs 4ozs of roach caught using waggler method down the middle of the river.

Second place went to Roger Durnford with 7lbs 12ozs of pole caught perch, roach and skimmers and completing the top trio was John Berry with 7lbs 1ozs.
