Twyford edged home 69-65 at Woodley in Division Three East of the Kennet League.

They won two rinks led by Nick Orde (17-15) and Brian Stain (22-9), but Phil Rose (17-18) and Barry Carter (13-23) were both beaten.

This left Twyford with 10 points and Woodley four.

The same clubs also met in a Kennet League LV Division Two Central East clash last Friday with visitors Woodley winning 57-45, 7-3 on points.

Twyford won one triple thanks to Brian Stain (18-17), Nick Orde drew 16-16 and Barry Carter lost 11-24.

Last Sunday saw Twyford members involved in the Davis Tate Triples competition with six teams each playing three matches, including Nick Orde and wife Rita up against each other as skips.

Both their teams finished with 21 points, so the match was decided on shot difference. Victory went to Rita Orde(skip), Gerry Wise and Dave Anderson, leaving Nick Orde (skip), Mary Wheeler and Peter Gaskell the runners up.

The winners received their trophy from Melissa Edwards on behalf of Davis Tate Estate Agents.

KENNET League Division One West tailenders Prospect Park A suffered an eighth defeat in eight, going down 115-46 (12-2 on points) to Thatcham.

There was also a defeat for Kennet LV League table-toppers Prospect Park A, as they were beaten 54-49 (7-3) by Island Bohemian.

Prospect Park B lost 52-41 (8-2) to Island Bohemian B in Division Two Central West.
