RELEGATION-THREATENED Bracknell slumped to a nine-wicket defeat at home to Theale & Tilehurst in Division 4a, writes Richard Ashton.

Only Sanjeewa Darshana (42) got going for the hosts as they were shot out for 135, Brian Cooper claiming 4-5 and Rob Dimmack 3-14.

T&T then made easy work of the chase, Mo Jamil striking an unbeaten 88 to guide his side to 139-1 in just 20.3 overs.

Theale & Tilehurst vist Bagshot 2nds on Saturday.

Peter Dean made his third consecutive century as leaders Sonning brushed aside North Maidenhead 2nds by 65 runs.

Dean (119no) was aided by Manu Rawat (75) and skipper Andrew Niblett (50) in helping his side declare on 301-4 after 48 overs, and Australian Aaron Crofts then took 5-54 as Maids were dismissed for 236.

Sonning visit Wargrave 2nds this Saturday.

Dani Katuri took 4-55 for Reading 2nds (118), but they lost by 24 runs to Newbury (142).

Youngster Taran Sohi (83) and Matt Townson (57) piled on the runs as Wargrave 2nds (265) crushed White Waltham (164) by 101 runs.

Martin Smith returned superb figures of 7-34 for Wargrave.

Ashera Mahavidanalage made a brilliant 96 and skipper Neal Robinson an unbeaten 50 as Wargrave beat Slough 2nds by 92 runs in Division One.

The hosts posted an imposing 293-9 from their 52 overs, and Mandip Sohi (4-36) and Shiryar Ahmed (4-67) then combined to dismiss Slough for 201.

Wargrave visit Falkland on Saturday.

Kidmore End boosted their Division 2a survival hopes with a tense three-wicket win at home to Windsor.

Skipper James Frost took 5-53 as the visitors totalled 217-9, and fine knocks from Reinardt Swart (64) and Jake Leach (50) enabled Kidmore to reach 218-7 with more than 10 overs to spare.

Kidmore End travel to Eversley this Saturday.

Bobby Malik (4-30) and Jack Beaven (3-39) starred with the ball for Reading (121-3) as they eased past Thatcham Town (120) by seven wickets in Division 2b.

Sunny Jheeta led the chase with 54 for Reading, who host Royal Ascot on Saturday.

Hurst dropped to third after having the worst of their draw with fellow high-flyers Beaconsfield.

Chris McCarthy (3-86) and skipper Lewis Smith (3-80) did the bulk of the damage as Hurst kept the hosts to 246-6, but none of the visitors’ batsmen really got going as they were forced to hang on at 163-9.

Hurst are at home to Thatcham Town this Saturday.

In Division 3a, Sulhamstead beat Purley on Thames by 15 runs.

Captain Matt Burrows top scored with 40 as Sully were bowled out for 209, Arjun Mather (4-46) and Andy Jackson (3-51) the pick of the Potters’ attack.

Tom O’Connor made 58 in reply, but useful spells from Marc Thompson (3-38) and Craig Palmer (3-49) saw Purley dismissed for 194.

Sulhamstead visit Farnham Royal this coming Saturday, while Purley on Thames are at home to leaders Binfield.

Ian Harvey took 6-33 from 18 overs, but Hurst 2nds (128) still lost to Cove 3rds (131-6) by four wickets in Division 6b.

Jamie Brown top scored with 52, but Finchampstead 4ths (192-9) fell to a six-wicket defeat at table-topping Bradfield (197-4), Ahmed Khan hammering an unbeaten 95 from just 79 balls for the home side. Earlier, Bob Bolton (4-36) and skipper Jack Byrne (4-64) shared the bowling honours for the home side.

Bradfield visit Sulhamstead 2nds on Saturday.

Anwar Subhani struck a superb 122, but still ended up on the losing side as Purley on Thames 2nds went down by six wickets to Sonning 2nds.

Chris Priestley added 80 as the Potters were bowled out for 237, Jameel Ahamad the pick of the Sonning attack taking 7-32.

The visitors were always in control after their top three of Mark Richards (89), Gerard Soames (56) and Ghulam Abbas (62no) set the platform to allow their side to reach 241-4 with three balls to spare.

Sulhamstead 2nds (155) lost by 76 runs to Fleet 2nds (231), while Theale & Tilehurst 2nds (232-5) beat Reading 3rds (229) by five wickets.

Tom White took 4-54 for T&T before Micky Mehta (103no) and Sam Arrowsmith (64) led their side home.

Sam Pepall’s 4-28 and an unbeaten 53 from James Newton inspired second-placed Wargrave 3rds (210-7) to a three-wicket triumph against Newbury 2nds (209) in Division 7a.

Nish Rajmohan took 5-50 as Kidmore End 2nds (165-4) beat Aldershot 3rds (162) by six wickets.

Bradfield 2nds (135-4) remain second in Division 8a after Dan Filmer’s 5-23 helped them past Wokingham 5ths (134) by six wickets.

Afzal Siddiqui (4-14) and Naeem Mohammed (4-18) both bowled superbly for Royal Ascot 4ths (100), but they lost a low-scoring thriller by 13 runs at Theale & Tilehurst 3rds (113).

In Division 9a, Sonning 3rds (219) beat Kidmore End 3rds (159) by 60 runs, while Alvin Waterman’s 62 was not enough for Reading 4ths (175-7) as they lost to Marlow Park (263-5) by 88 runs.

Wargrave 4ths (122) lost to Wokingham Oaks & Acorns (124-2) by eight wickets.
