PUNTERS at Newbury Racecourse can look forward to the arrival of three fabulous #GinThursdays.

Beginning with the return of the annual Gin Festival on Thursday, July 4, the gin theme will continue across the following two Thursdays.

There will be seven live races to enjoy, followed by an afterparty with resident DJ Moonraker playing until 10.30pm each night.

To celebrate the thriving local gin scene there will be more than 30 varieties of gin available at the two Botanical Gin bars located on the Crafty Filly Terrace and Thursday, July 4 will see featured gin displays and sampling provided by partners, Warners, Seedlip, Chase, Bombay Sapphire and the locally distilled Lumber’s Bartholomew Craft Gin, who will sponsor the sixth race on the night.

Finishing off with the Gin Festival Finale on July 25, Pinkster, Schweppes and Oxi-Botanicals will be joining the course to tell punters all about their new products.

Pete Lumber of Lumber’s Bartholomew Craft Gin commented: “It is really exciting for us to be sponsoring for the first time at our local Newbury Racecourse and to be showcasing our gin at their annual festival.

"Horse racing is a great chance to relax with your friends after work, and we think our gin pairs perfectly with the occasion. We look forward to welcoming racegoers on the night.”

Racegoers should be sure to pick up a racecard which will not only feature the all-important information for the seven-race card but, also some beneficial tasting notes which will lead you on a journey through the gin festival.

Newbury Racecourse is also delighted to be offering the discount code FLAT15 for all racegoers to secure their tickets for £15. This code is valid across all three fixtures.

With gates opening at 4pm and the first race scheduled just after 5pm, #GinThursdays are the perfect opportunity to get the work colleagues together and head down to the racecourse straight after work to take advantage of the summer evenings and lighter nights.

Harriet Collins, Marcomms and Sponsorship Director at Newbury Racecourse said: “Following on from the success of our Gin Festival last year, we thought we would continue the theme across all our Thursday evening fixtures.

"We are thrilled to be partnering with two local distilleries, who will be bringing their delicious gin for racegoers to sample and hope this is something we can continue to grow each year.”
