PURLEY-ON-THAMES fell to a first Division 3a defeat of the season as they were edged out by two wickets at home to Slough 3rds, writes Richard Ashton.

Patrick Allen top scored with 56, but the Potters were bowled out for 186 before Slough got home in the 38th over.

Rahu Thava (4-35) was the pick of the home attack.

Purley-on-Thames visit Boyne Hill 2nds this Saturday.

Craig Palmer made 45 for Sulhamstead (172), and with Matt Gill (5-24) and Stuart Hornby (3-7) in sensational form, they dismissed Cove 2nds for 128 to secure a 44-run win.

Sulhamstead travel to Falkland 2nds on Saturday.

Wargrave gained a maiden Division One triumph with a 107-run thrashing of High Wycombe 2nds.

Ashera Mahavidanalage (83), skipper Neal Robinson (47) and Oliver Newton (42no) were all among the runs as the visitors posted an imposing 288-8 in their 50 overs, and Mandip Sohi (3-14) and Jack Clark (3-31) then got to work to help dismiss Wycombe for 181.

Wargrave host Boyne Hill this Saturday.

In Division 2a, Kidmore End recovered from a disastrous start to obliterate Marlow by 248 runs.

The End collapsed to 17-3, but a wonderful knock from Zac Leonard (138 from 134 balls), aided by Shaun Burningham (91 from 83) and Reinhardt Swart (60no from 45) helped the hosts reach 328-7.

James Walker (5-22) and left-arm spinner Guy Ashby (3-12) then proved too good for the away side, skittling them for just 80.

Kidmore End visit Kew on Saturday.

In Division 2b, useful performances from James Watt (57), Lewis Smith (51, Phil Higgs (4-28) and Nick Reynolds (4-42) guided Hurst (252-6) to a 94-run victory against Henley 2nds (158).

Hurst host Reading on Saturday.

Waqas Ahmed (74) and Jack Beaven (60) led the way for Reading (272) as they sealed a 65-run victory at Fleet (207), Atif Nasim's 5-31 finishing the job in.

Sonning made it three Division 4a wins from three with a 72-run success against Bagshot 2nds.

Peter Dean (121), captain Andrew Niblett (51) and Australian Aaron Crofts (48) led the home side to a dominant 300-8, and Crofts (5-23) then starred with the ball to restrict their opponents to 228-9.

Sonning host Theale & Tilehurst on Saturday.

A brilliant 113 from Jacob Stoner and a Mohammed Jamil 50 were not enough to prevent Theale & Tilehurst (231-7) losing to Reading 2nds (232-7) by three wickets, Azeem Qayyum taking 4-47 for the victorious side and Khurram Mahmood (77) and Reading FC footballer Tom Holmes (45) leading the run chase.

Charlie Moss (85) and Dan Davies (77no) impressed for Wargrave 2nds (213-2) as they eased past Bracknell (210-9) by eight wickets.

Tim Smith (75) and Will Nevill (56) starred with the bat for Bradfield (252-7 in 45 overs) as they beat Fleet 2nds (196-9) by 56 runs in Division 6b.

Skipper Jack Byrne was the pick of the hosts' attack with 4-45.

Bradfield host Theale & Tilehurst 2nds this coming Saturday.

Sulhamstead 2nds (134) overcame a below-par batting display to beat Cove 3rds (84) by 50 runs, while Adeel Chaudry's brilliant 5-24 fired Sonning 2nds (169) to a 58-run success against Reading 3rds (111).

An excellent unbeaten 69 from Waqas Ashraf proved key as Theale & Tilehurst 2nds (185-3) downed Finchampstead 4ths (184-6) by seven wickets.

Jake White made 58 for Hurst 2nds (178), but they lost by 106 runs to Purley on Thames 2nds (284-3).

In Division 7a, youngster Taran Sohi made 73 for Wargrave 3rds (229-7), but they went down by 33 runs to Yateley (262-6).

Kidmore End 2nds (104) were thumped by eight wickets by Binfield 3rds (107-2).

Paul Armstrong's excellent unbeaten 84 paved the way for Bradfield 2nds (257-8) to inflict a convincing 112-run defeat on Royal Ascot 4ths (145) in Division 8a.

Theale & Tilehurst 3rds (122) were crushed by 175 runs at home to Bagshot 3rds (297-4).

In Division 9a, Sonning 3rds (85-0) battered Wokingham Oaks & Acorns (82) by 10 wickets, while Reading 4ths (117) lost by the same margin to Eversley 4ths (121-0).

Kevin Rapley took 4-32, but Wargrave 4ths (58) suffered a calamitous batting collapse to go down by 42 runs to Stoke Green 4ths (100).
