RETIRING captain Danny Carter was named coaches' player of the year as Reading Rockets held their annual presentation evening at the Hilton hotel.

AJ Carr was named Most Valuable Player for the team, while David Chive received the most improved gong.

Fellow retiring captain Maike Delow Fasbender was named as coaches' pick for the women's team, with Monica Herranz De Antonio taking the MVP honours and Maria Angeles Valdeolmillos Gomez the most improved award.

From the Wessex Ladies team, Emmanuelle Huot (MVP), Barbara Ahland (MIP) and Fenia Kyriaki (coaches) were all rewarded for their achievements.

Chive completed a double by being named the Under 18 Premier MVP, with Sam Grant (MIP) and Asher Ndah (coaches) also lauded.

The coaches' player of the year for the U18 Regional side was Jacob Dearman, with the other awards going to Jamie O'Sullivan and Joshua Adams.

For the U18 women, Paula Romero Tarrega was crowned as the best player, Saffie Jarju the most improved and Noa Sanchez Marques the coaches' star.

Victor Gadea Arcos was the U16 boys' 1sts MVP, with James Okonkwo the MIP and Antony Corner honoured by the coaches.

For the 2nds and 3rds at that age group, the awards went to Ciaran Murtagh, Connor Rapecki and Ethan Wyatt, and Ruel Idedia, Louis Johnson and Alex Macwaters.

Thomas Ferguson was the star player in the Under 14 boys 1sts, with Minshok Angthopo and Guy Sher also heralded.

Elliot Hayburn, Niall Rapecki and Hakim Chembera took the awards for the 2nds.

In the U14/16 girls team, Leesa Woods, Abigail Wyatt and Mathilde Smith were the winners.

Emran Mahmutovic, Seth Payne and Mattias Smith took the plaudits for the U12 boys, with the respective awards going to Amelie Griffiths, Ciara Griffiths and Alba del Prado in the girls' team.

For the U10 boys, Dominykas Bukys, Noah Perrone and Woody Bowen went home with the trophies.

Vicent Blai Benlloch was named coach of the year by his colleagues, while the Margaret Kenderdine Clubman of the Year was won by Steph Johnson.
