READING goalkeeper Amy Tennant starred as Great Britain beat the USA in their first home fixture in the FIH Pro League.

The match, played at Lee Valley in London on Saturday, ended in a 1-1 draw with GB winning the penalty shoot-out 2-1, so securing a bonus point.

In front of a crowd of more than 4,000, Giselle Ansley had put GB ahead on the half-hour mark with Lauren Moyer equalising after 44 minutes, both goals coming from penalty corners.

Tennant faced five penalties, but was only beaten by the second taken by Kathleen Sharkey with the GB goals coming from Tess Howard and Anna Toman.

With seven points from as many games, GB sit seventh in the table, with only China and the USA below them, and they face the former in London tomorrow (Friday, 7.30pm).

GB are top of the men's league following last weekend's 1-0 win over Germany, their fourth win in five away matches.

They make their first home appearance this Saturday against Spain (12pm pushback).

On the same day, Reading Ladies Rockets will also be in action at Lee Valley (2.30pm), playing Oxted in the Investec Women's Tier 3 Championship final.
