READING FC players refused to wear the Kick It Out shirts during their warm-up ahead of Saturday's 3-1 Championship defeat at Hull City.
It is believed one player has lost faith in the effectiveness of the anti-racism body, leading to the protest.
Royals' stars had also failed to wear the shirts before the previous week's game at home to Preston, instead donating them to ball kids, although skipper Liam Moore still wore the Kick it Out armband during the game.
The club also continued its support of the 25th anniversary of the movement by displaying a banner on the big screen and placing a message on the big screen.
The racism issue has become prevalent in recent weeks with England players abused during their victory in Montenegro a fortnight ago, and Juventus teenager Mise Kean suffering similarly during a game against Cagliari last Tuesday.
Following Saturday's defeat at Tigers, Reading are now just a point and a place above the relegation zone ahead of their trip to leaders Norwich City on Wednesday night.
