READING FC are turning red for Red Nose Day – and supporters are loving it.

Royals have launched a snazzy, limited-edition kit to raise funds for Comic Relief.

But instead of the usual blue and white hoops, this one is red and costs just £5 for all sizes, while a full kit with matching shorts and socks is £10.

Royals fans can get their hands on the new strip from the Madejski Stadium megastore from 10am this Friday, or via the club’s website from 9am.

Supporter Alex Bower tweeted: "Get the feeling these are going to sell out pretty quickly."

Alex Everson added: "That Reading FC Comic Relief kit is gorgeous."

Kyle Froomes tweeted: "This is a phenomenal shirt. Top drawer from the club."

Another Royals fan, Will, added: "Absolute worldie of a shirt."

Price tags have deliberately been left off all kit items to allow supporters to make a bigger charity donation should they wish to.

The initiative, which is backed by Reading’s owners Dai Yongge and Dai Xiu Li, is a massive hit with supporters.

Reading’s first team and Academy players will train in the new kit on Red Nose Day on Friday, March 15.

Signed and worn shirts will then be auctioned off for the charity to raise even more funds.

A Reading FC statement stressed: “This special red kit is really just for our fans! And, in total support of Comic Relief, we want you to help us paint the town red for Red Nose Day.”

The shirts, which have gold trim and the Royals crest emblazoned on its chest, are in limited supply.
