SONE Aluko has completed a loan move to Beijing Renhe which also belongs to the owners of Reading FC.

Aluko, who turned 30 recently, struggled to make an impact with Royals following his club-record £7m move from Fulham in summer 2017.

He scored four times in 59 games and becomes the latest player to leave under Jose Gomes’ cost-cutting measures at Madejski Stadium.

Aluko, who remains under contract until June 2021, will now move to the Chinese Super League where the transfer window remains open until the end of the month.

He has signed a loan deal for the remainder of 2019 with Beijing Renhe who are part of a portfolio belonging to Royals owners Dai Yongge and Dai Xiu Li.

The siblings also own KSV Roeselare in Belgium whose chief executive is Brian Tevreden – the former Reading technical director who left his post in September last year.

Beijing Renhe finished eighth in the Chinese top flight last season under manager Aleksandar Stanojević.
