READING FC Under 23s came from behind to beat Flackwell Heath 2-1 in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup quarter finals.

But last night’s away victory at Wilks Park was marred by a serious injury to 17-year-old Royals Academy midfielder, Jack Nolan.

The youngster dislocated his knee in the latter stages of the first half and, after a lengthy delay, was stretchered off and taken to hospital.

Nolan tweeted an update this morning saying: “Would like to thank everyone for their support really means a lot. I suffered dislocated knee but hope to be back as soon as possible.”

Nolan was taken off in the 38th minute with the game still scoreless, but Flackwell broke the deadlock one minute before the break through Leius Sinclair following a mistake by Reading keeper Myles Roberts.

However, Scott Marshall’s men regrouped and equalised on 63 minutes before Khalid Simmo struck the winner 11 minutes later in front of a crowd of 310.
