PETE Otto and James Storey were victorious in the January Tom Evans Foursomes Competition at Calcot Park last weekend.

The competition, which sees the club’s A players being partnered with a B Player in a foursomes format, is held from October to March.

Otto and Storey were the first winners of 2019 as they secured 41 stableford points, edging out runners-up Graeme Russell and Leigh Halabi by a point.

They in turn pushed Keith Gardner and Kenny McColl, also with 40 points, into third spot on countback.

The ‘Special Prize’ went to former junior captain, Craig Langford, and Steve Chitty.

Meanwhile, the Founders Knockout Trophy for 2018 was won by Harry West.

NIGEL Huszarik, Jimmy Green and Carl McCartney won the Sunday winter fun competition at West Berks with a winning score of 86 points, three ahead of Shaun Ponsford, Tony Coventry and Tony Athawes who took second place.

Keith Wilkins, John Carroll and Gary Abraham were a further point back, beating Jane Brackenbury, Jason Kendal and Gary Robinson to take third spot.

Brackenbury strengthened her position at the top of the ladies winter league table when she won her second round in succession, scoring 33 points to win by five shots from a three-way tie for second place between Sian Soanes, Tina Mulford and Gale McAuley.

Andy Greaves and Darren Boulton won round four of the men’s winter league with 45 points, while Nigel Day and Mark Kendal with 42 took second place on countback from Keith Wilkins and Fred Stephens.
