Caversham Heath
GEOFF Parlour (18hcp), Adrian Ford (22hcp) and Ashley Deller (24hcp) danced away with the 3-2-1 Waltz Trophy on Saturday.
The trio recorded 81 points in the competition, played with nine tenth handicap allowance.
Runners-up were Keith Hedges (18hcp), Alan Kennealy (26hcp) and Paul Harrod (16hcp), on countback from Kevin Iley (14hcp), Andy Lanbourne (17hcp) and Wayne Mayers (11hcp).
The trio of Sean Houghton (14hcvp), Dennis Sunderland (11hcp) and Simon Walker (9hcp) were fourth, all three groups ending with 78 points.
West Berks
TIM Howes and Ray Pithers started the 2019 competitive season at West Berks with great resolve by winning a high-scoring better-ball pairs stableford competition with 47 points.
Dan Bowsher and Chris Prior were one shot behind in second place, while Mark Charlton and Charles Dixon with 45 points took third spot resolving a three-way tie with Jason Kendal and Gary Robinson and Mark Ridgill and Chris Ramsey on countback.
Meanwhile, Tina Mulford won round seven of the ladies’ winter league with 31 points, while Jane Brackenbury with 28 beat Gale McAuley on countback to take second spot.
Deanwood
BILL field was crowned Deanwood Seniors' Christmas Challenge winner recently, while December medal honours went to Dave Lyons, Bob Giles and Angela Dean.
After the Christmas Challenge, the senior section celebrated a successful year with the assistance of entertainer Graham Bradfield and guitarist Dave Milsom.
