JOEL Penson and Harvey Owen both grabbed brilliant hat-tricks as Tilehurst Albion moved back to the top of the table with an 8-1 drubbing of Reading Saints.

Man-of-the-match Luca Albanese also added a brace for the league leaders, who scored six goals in the second half, with Owen providing two assists and one each from George Gavin, Richard Kearsey, Charlie Baines, Albanese and Penson.

A Jon Allen double and goals from Nick Schippers and Matt Lee were enough for third-placed Barkham Athletic to ease past West Reading CFC 4-1, Niall Lynch with the consolation.

The most entertaining game of the day saw Brookside St Laurence draw 4-4 with Norreys FC in an eight-goal cracker.

Brookside's best player Jack Perrett scored twice, with Sam Carlisle also on target for the home side.

Callum Makepeace provided two assists for St Laurence, with the others coming from Joe Hare and Ben Blackledge.

Marcus Gainlall was YMCA United's stand-out performer, but they were convincingly beaten 4-0 at fifth-placed Bethel United, while rock bottom Wycliffe Wanderers were beaten 4-0 at home by Greyfriars FC.

The game between Beacon Church and Wycliffe United was postponed, while second-placed YMCA Newbury – level on points with Tilehurst Albion at the top, but with a game in hand – were the side without a fixture last weekend.
