RAMS made it 12 National Two South wins in a row as they beat basement boys London Irish Wild Geese 40-12 at their Old Bath Road ground on Saturday.

The victory leaves Seb Reynolds' side 11 points clear at the top of the the table, having won 15 of their 16 matches to date.

The hosts opened the scoring with a penalty try in the eighth minute, with another converted score coming at the end of the first quarter.

Robbie Stapley smashed his way over for the third try five minutes before the break, with the bonus-point secured by Jak Rossiter shortly ahead of the interval. With Alex Seers adding the extras to both, Rams led 28-0 at half-time.

A wonderful break from Conor Corrigan set-up Jamar Richardson for the hosts' fifth try on 50 minutes, and they added a second penalty try on the hour mark to further extend their advantage.

The Wild Geese showed good guts and determination in the final 20 minutes, scoring two tries, but all in all it was another fine effort from Rams.

And Reynolds said: "These games are always tricky. The English rugby season is a very long season, and fatigue can set in at times, but I thought the players were excellent.

"London Irish play a very dangerous style of rugby and they had some guys in from the senior side to help them out, but to get a bonus-point win at home in the last game of 2018, I can't complain."
