ADRIAN Popa and Axel Andresson have both left Reading FC.

Forgotten winger Popa has joined Bulgarian top-flight outfit PFC Ludogorets on loan until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old Romanian international has made one first-team appearance this season in a 1-0 home defeat to Bolton.

He made just nine starts and eight appearances from the bench since joining from Steaua Bucharest nearly two years ago.

Reading was loaned out in January to Saudi club Al-Taawoun before returning to Madejski Stadium in the summer.

But with his first-team opportunities severely limited, he has moved on in order to gain regular football and could make his debut for Bulgarian champions Ludogorets in a pre-season friendly this weekend.

Meanwhile, centre-back Andresson has made a permanent switch to Norwegian club Viking Stavanger.

The 20-year-old Academy graduate made nine appearances for them last season while on loan to help them clinch promotion back to the top flight.

He made two first-team appearances for Reading and both were in Carabao Cup wins against Gillingham and Millwall last season.

He also enjoyed loan spells with Bath City and Torquay United.

The duo’s exit could see the departure of several more Royals fringe players including Pelle Clement, Dave Edwards, David Meyler, Callum Harriott in January.
