READING FC full-back Chris Gunter was forced to defend his decision to keep his record-breaking Wales shirt following a bitter attack on social media.
Gunter surpassed Neville Southall’s 92 caps when he wore the captain’s armband for a friendly in Albania last week.
But Soccer AM posted two videos on its Twitter account showing Gunter refusing to give his shirt away to a football fan.
The show then had a couple of digs at the 29-year-old, saying: “Looking to swap shirts with Chris Gunter? No chance.”
That was followed by a second video from the match in Elbasan last Tuesday night showing Gunter being asked – and refusing – to hand over his shirt to a supporter.
That video was accompanied by the message: "Chris Gunter just loves pieing people, this is the second one this week!"
Gunter, though, had a perfectly valid reason for keeping hold of his historic jersey – he was giving it to his mum and dad who rarely miss a match he is involved in for both club and country.
The Soccer AM jibes clearly angered Gunter, who issued a strong-worded response on his personal Twitter account.
He replied: "Not ‘pieing’ anybody the shirt was being kept for my parents after a proud night. Feel free to find another video though and make it a hat trick."

Fans have been quick to jump to Gunter’s defence while slamming Soccer AM in the process.
The videos have since been removed from the Soccer AM Twitter account.
Well in Chris! You’re right to keep the shirt and be proud of your achievement. Will be triple figures in no time 👍🏻🏴 pic.twitter.com/WPveBaRlIY

Ignore trolls like @SoccerAM who clearly have no clue what a great guy and welsh National treasure you are
Absolutely magnificent achievement, Chris. Congratulations on becoming our most capped player. It’s going to take something special to beat your record. Great to see you sharing it with your family too. A genuine Welsh legend.

Gunter has been in and out of the Reading team this season but was recalled by boss Paul Clement on Saturday for the 0-0 draw at Wigan Athletic.
The full-back looks set for another start on Tuesday night when Royals take on Leeds United in a televised clash at Elland Road (7.45pm ko).
