READING Women extended their unbeaten run to five games with a 0-0 draw at home to Trojans on Saturday.

But player-coach Jo Ellis felt her side should have won, saying: "We didn't take our chances when we were on top."

She added: "The result was a bit disappointing, but it was still a good performance.

"We are getting harder to beat, and that has been our main objective for the last few games. There are not many teams scoring against us now, but we now need to work on our play in the final third."

Since losing their opening three Conference West fixtures, Blues have remained undefeated with one win and four draws.

Ellis continued: "At least, by taking a point we are keeping the momentum going, but we want to start turning draws into wins.

"We could do with a big performance this week against Oxford Hawks."

This fixture is being played at the Banbury Road North ground on Saturday with a noon pushback and is an important one for both sides as they seek to improve their lowly league position.

Reading are third-from-bottom of the table with seven points, while Hawks are one rung below them on three points and still looking for their first win of the season.

Blues keeper Amy Tennant made her Great Britain debut when they lost 2-0 to Australia in their second match at the Women's Champions Trophy in China on Sunday.
